We have officially launched our Campaign with an advert in the Church Times on the fifth anniversary of the wedding of Canon Jeremy Pemberton and Laurence Cunnington. Our aim is simple – to see the Church of England welcome gay and lesbian couples to celebrate their marriages in Church of England Churches, nothing more, and nothing less. We know that this may well take some time, and we are ready for the inevitable disappointments and struggle to be heard. But the tide has already turned in the Church of England, and it is only a matter of time. So for now we offer our congratulations to Jeremy and Laurence, and all couples who have married in the last five years. We pray, and will work, for the day when any marriage like theirs will be simply another celebration of human love, mirroring the love of Christ for His Church.
