Ben Bradshaw tweeted to say that his “10 Minute Rule Bill in Parliament tomorrow [21 March] is aimed at allowing those priests, parishes & cathedrals in England that wish to do so to conduct same-sex weddings.”
Even though the bill is unlikely to be passed, it’s good that equal marriage in church has been raised and discussed in Parliament.
Mr Bradshaw also commented “The @churchofengland risks being left behind the Roman Catholic Church at this rate.” He was referring to the decision by German Catholic bishops to allow blessing of same-sex relationships, contrary to the position of the Vatican.
